Me and my friend Kyle were riding around in his Srt-4 when we spotted this guy we know whos got a 1996 4.6 GT. Its got some projector beam head lights and some euros just to give you an idea of what it looks like. oh yeah and a Cobra R hood but that actually makes it look better. Any way we get behind him and then change lanes to get beside him. BY this time Kyle is in 3rd gear in the Srt-4 and we are about to the stangs back bumper and then he floors it. Not even ready to race yet and the stang had a WHOLE car jump on him kyle floors the SRT-4. THen we start walking the stang down. We end up passing him and beating him by about 2 or 3 cars. The SRT4 only has a BOV which adds no power and CAI. The mustang had exhaust and thats it and it was an auto. Definitely the slowest stang ive seen[:'(]

THen after the race we pull over and the guy with the mustang says" Dude what kind of turbo do you have on that thing. IM pushing 300 to the wheels and you just blew my doors off." I laughed my a$$ off after that one.

Almost forgot the guy with the mustang totaled it 2 days later.

 

He's pushing 300 hp, yea right, you should of told him, "hey here's your ball, now go play in the corner." Well auto mustangs are terrible when it comes to speed and not to mention that 96 GTs only had 215 hp off the flywheels, about 185 to the rear wheels, so add in that exhaust he proabably had about 195, which is far from 300.

 

You should have told him that it was just a Dodge Neon and not the turbo SRT-4, and that it just had the SRT-4 Ground Effects, and was otherwise stock.

 

hmm I got a 96 gt auto, its ok I'll just be racing from a dig, but you can use a bauman shift kit to help with racing from a roll, it allows you to upshift and downshift using your cruise control buttons

 

wow that sucks that he totaled it but he was obviously a moron with the 300 to the wheels comment

 

How are auto mustangs terrible when it comes to racing?

 

they have ALOT of lag and they also take ALOT dont give you as much power to the wheels because they have a higher drivetrain loss percent at least in ford thats why

 

lol 15% vs 18% is the AODE vs the 5spd the T45? I think thats the right manual tranny #, but in any case on the highway the auto might have lag unless u have a bauman shift kit, but in a drag, unless you got a pro driver behind that manual, auto wins. Auto shifts faster when done right and gets off the line better with a high stall convertor, but on the highway stock for stock, the 5 spd is better. Just a thought, SRT-4s are alright, but they cant get off the line as quick, just becuase you can win from a roll doesnt mean you can own him in anyway. The lag only comes from when you floor it, it downshifts 1st before you really start going but that can be taken away with the bauman shift kits, cuz u can control your shifting with your cruise control, and the Autos stay in higher RPMs, but as I said stock for stock I'll give it to the manual, but if you put money into the auto ill put my money on the auto everytime, 1 word=consistency

 

I am not going to argue with you Xxphanton... If you put money into autos you are right they can be very nice. But if you put money into anything it can be very nice.
