He probably had slicks all the way round and it was 20 degrees outside and his car weighed 300 pounds lighter than most WRX's.

Maybe with mods he can keep up with you, but a stock WRX or even A stock STI is not fast on the highway. After the 1/8 mile they are threw. The AWD really slows them down. I'm willing to bet you could beat a stock STI on the highway, believe me they are threw after the 1/8 mile. Even in the 1/4 mile the stock STI's I see run turn from 13.7-14.0 at around 100-101 mph. They are all about the take off. Now once they start modding it is a different story. But stock no problem.
Someone in a stock 2006 WRX ran a 13.5 over on NASIOC ^_^

That may be, but the new WRX's look like poop . I do like your gen though.

It was supposedly on a bone stock 06 WRX. I dug up the thread on NASIOC and the guy was alleged to have run a 13.4, but I don't have time this morning to filter through 17 pages of responses hehe. It's somewhat believable to me because the new WRXs have half a liter more displacement than the older ones as well as a stronger transmission.

I agree, and thanks =D

STi's are fast enough to be used as unmarked Interstate cops in Portugal. I found that out last weekend... luckily I wasn't driving though. It was a 120 Euro (About $135) fine that had to be paid on the spot. Doing 160kmh in a 120kmh zone is not a good idea.

I see all this talk about a 99-04 Mustang GT losing to a WRX or WRX Sti in the 1/8, but after that a GT will pass it. Well if thats true, than hows come a stock GT runs low 14's in the 1/4 and Sti's run low 13's and WRX's run high 13's. From a dead stop or roll, I doubt my GT could beat one, but on the other hand I've been neck and neck with an EVO from 75 up till about 115.
