Sounds like a bunch of hooey to me.

+1 and it sounds more like you ran away like a BIATCH. Man enough to race , but not man enough to own up?

Hey, if you think you can get away then do it. But if you dont...goodbye to the stang! Ive ran a couple of times. First time I was following an old 5.0, when i used to have a 00 mustang. He passed an Impala on a 2-way street and i was about half way passed him when the Impala turned on its lights...turned out to be an unmarked car. The 5.0 pulled over and i did an immediate 180 and hauled azz home. Basically, if you can get away safely, its worth it, but if they catch you...

They dont have to catch you. They only have to write down your plates and come get you at home later.

If we catch guys that run, we usually stomp their A$$. It's just best to stop and take the ticket. alot of times you might not even get a ticket just an A$$ chewing. advice coming from a cop that love to drive fast!!!

Basically, don't run. Ever. Hell, pulling over and doing exactly what acop says, and answering all of his/her questions WHEN THEY ASK THEM if the best thing you can do, end of story. I also call hooey. If they got enough of you plate to come talk to you, then thats enough.

Running is the stupidest thing you can do. 99% of the time ur gonna get busted. I was racing these 2 ricers last summer, a cop was following us and saw the whole thing and in the process called another cop to get ahead of us. He turned on his lights and me and the first guy pulled over, the other ricer tried to get away but there was a copper up the road waiting for him. The cop that pulled me over just asked for my licence and regestration and went back to his car and ran it through the computer. When he came back he asked what I had been doing and i didnt try to BS him , i was just honest and told him the whole truth, he also asked if i had ever gotten any other tickets (which i didnt) He then told me to go home and if he saw me again that night my a$$ was grass. The guy that tried to run got towed. The lesson here is by pulling over, the worst that can happen is a ticket and maybe the cop will be a good guy and let you go, as in my case, or you can try to run and probably get your car towed. Main thing is just be honest and polite

WERD!!! we have a popular un-populated straightaway in my county that leads back to a wild life refuge. It's a perfect 1/4 mile. we get calls for dragracers every friday and saturday night. we go down and check lisences and make sure no one is drinking and tell them to take it to the strip in huntsville, AL which is 30-45 minutes away. the only time we write tickets is when some kid in a civic or a cavalier trying to be rice gets an attitude and trys to say were harassing him. He then gets a parking on roadway ticket. even if we see two racing we block the road and stop em and say take it to the next county or to the strip! just remember all street racing is dangerous, safer to just go to the track where the roadwy is well kept and manicured and no deer or dogs run out in front of you.
