Default What else do I need for my lowering setup?

Looking for some help with lowering. I have pretty well made up my mind about going with Eibach Pro springs. The car is a DD but I occasionally like tocorner hard and sometimes bring it to the track. From what I have gathered, I believe the best struts for me would be koni srt.t. If I someone completely disagrees please let me know.

I am trying to do this mod as inexpensively as I can. So my question is this. If I want the car to be a little firmer than stock and look better lowered what else do I really need?

Will there be an irritating pop or clunking? If so I guess I need to get strut mounts or castor cambor plates. And if I do what are the cheapest ones that will work and last without breaking the bank?

My other question is will the rear be noticably off forcing me to buy a panhard rod? Again, what would be my cheapest option for a panhard rod.

I don't know much abut suspensions but i know what I want to do and I want it done right for as cheap as possible.

Thank you guys in advance.

Most likely your strut mount are going to come apart when you take them out. I still find little ball bearing rolling around in my garage.

You can go with the GT500 mounts for about $100 or step up to the Camber plates for about $300.

Panhard... yes you're most likely going to need one.

Don't forget about the alignment. I'm not sure about the shops in your area but the place I took mine charged me extra since it was a more "complex" alignment. $200 later it was riding straight again but I went with camber bolts.

Eibach and a matched SRT will be just fine with a moderate drop and reasonable ride quality.

Do NOT run a camber bolt! They are "cheap", but weak and can break FAR easier than the OEM one. If you want to address your camber change, pick up a set of CC plates and correct it that way. CC plates will add some NVH, but such is life with suspension modifications, so it is likely you will hear noises you did not hear prior.

The PHB will not be "necessary", especially if you are running your OEM wheels/tires, but will very likley be off-center when you are done. The rear axle is not always centered from the factory, so maybe you will get lucky and it will move it over to the center for ya

Regardless of what direction you go, just remember that your car and your life depend on the function of the suspension in your car. Make sure that you keep your perspective on what is important and keep your car safe!

So is there any way to not make the NVH worse? I'm beginning to think that I might just leave the suspension alone.

Pretty much ALL suspension mods to improve your cornering/handling, are going to increase the NVH. A set of very moddest lowering springs with quality dampers and maybe FLSFC's are about the only exceptions. I believe the GT500 strut-mounts differ a bit from the GT ones and would expect them to be a bit more "friendly" in the NVH dept., but don't know if they are a real advantage over your OEM ones

Great information. I am so glad I asked before pulling the trigger blindly. I am going to have to listen to some cars that have bee lowered and see for myself how the noise is.

I own a 2006 Mustang GT and I'm running UPR Pro Series lowering springs (made for us by Eibach, and they spec out the same as Eibach's Pro Kit springs). I LOVE how much better the car corners on these springs, but I'd be lying if I told you that I don't feel the bumps more with these springs. Jazzer's right though, any lowering springs will pick up a little bit of NVH. I don't think it's bad at all, but it's there.

I used UPR's adjustable panhard bar. It's $135 with the Mustangforums.com discount, and it has a Lifetime Guarantee. http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-p...rd-bar-05.html

I Like my Eibach PRO-KIT set up. Comes with the Eibach Pro-kit springs and Eibach Struts and shocks specifically designed for the pro-kit springs.. I would do it it over again...
