2012 sway bar hangars clunking
This car is a 2012 with 70k mostly hwy miles on it. I first thought the clunking noise was a loose shock mount. However, I crawled up under the car and grabbed the sway bar with both hands and shook it. This is the noise. It has a little play in both hangar bushings. However, they don't look bad at all. I rotated both rubber bushings 45 degrees, and it quieted down some. I would say the fix would be to replace those hangars/bushings. Should I have to do this already? This car is just a daily driver, and doesn't get driven hard at all. (I average about 30mpg with it.) Should these things need replacing already? It doesn't look like they come off the sway bar very easy.

Thanks. But, unless there were MAJOR modifications done to the stock hangars, they aren't worth having. BMR suspension makes some replacements that are aluminum billet that have polyurethane bushings with grease fittings. 115 bucks and about an hours' work, and I'm PERMANENTLY fixed up better than stock.

Mine went out about 35K miles, I switched to H&R from AM. http://www.americanmuscle.com/mustan...bars-1112.html
Steve is correct, they are easy to replace and you won't have to worry about cheap rubber bushings wearing out again....and again. Btw, Mine went out last winter- ran a sheet rock screw into the bushing to tighten it up til it warmed up. Working on cars when it's 10 degrees is not fun.
