K-member dimensions
Howdy y'all. Im the owner of a 1985 Capri and while I may be a youngin I have done alot of work over the past few years. My current project is paint/bodywork and then on to suspension. My question is regarding to some K member measurements. Im a current Mechanical engineering student and was introduced to Cad this year. Ive already worked with it extensively and have decided to design and eventually fabricate a front SLA. I understand there are kits out there from a few companies, but they are overpriced. The reason for me not measuring myself is due to me being 4 hours away from where the car is currently housed. I won't be able to get to the car until Christmas break where I will be shoving as many man hours as I can at the car to get it road worthy. Id like to start working on the cad drawing of this sla now in my free time. My questions are:
Height of the K-member from the bottom of the member to the top faces of the bolt holes. the length/width of the frame that the K-member bolts to. The width inside the frame rails from edge to edge.
I understand that this wont give me everything, i will still have to work out where my rack will mount, figure out motor mounts, and work out the locations for my bottom arm. It will however give me an awesome starting point that should help me begin.
Thanks and Gig'Em!
