REAR SUSPENSION
I HAVE A 2005 mUSTANG GT, LOWERED... I HAVE A 295/45/18 ON THE BACK, THEY TUCK AND LOOKS GOOD, BUT THE FACTORY SHOCKS WITH 150K MILES TEND TO LET THE FENDER RUB, ONLY ON THE RH SIDE WHEN I HIT BUMPS..... ANY SUGGESTIONS TO WHAT KIND OF SHOCK I COULD BUT ON THAT WOULD TIGHTEN UP THE REAR. NOTE: IM NOT WORRIED ABOUT HOW IT RIDE, I UNDERSTAND THAT WITH A TIGHT SHOCKS ITS GONNA FEEL LIKE IM RIDING A GO KART, BUT IM GOOD WITH THAT.... DOES ANYONE THINK THE FACTORY SHOCK REPLACEMENTS WOULD BE OK?
I have Strange Engineering 10 way adjustable shocks and struts with Ford K springs on my '11. It's practically the same suspension anyway. On the street I run 315/35/20's in the rear and have rub only on hard/steep drop off.
You can adjust these things to be stiffer or softer depending on how you want it to ride simply by turning a **** on the tubing. They're relatively cheap as well. I believe I found mine on LMR.
Also, rubbing is very common with a lowered 3 link since the rear end shifts slightly depending on flex.

New shocks may help to some extent but they won't stop the axle and suspension from moving to the point where your tire rubs. May wanna consider having the fenders rolled.
I'm not too familiar with the S197's 3 link rearend setup, but the side to side shifting may also be curable by going to aftermarket control arms with stiffer bushings. Consider that the stock 12 year old soft factory rubber bushings may be worn/deteriorated and contributing to this issue.
