was it a stock shifter or a short shifter? Mine does not shake at any speed... could be just a loose fork on the shifter itself.. pull the boot off and tightening it up could be all you need to fix it..

Yes it shifted smooth the only problem I saw was that the shifter was vibrating if its nothing big then I think I might get it. But im still looking at other cars I just love the sound that car makes so I hope its nothing big maybe I might just tell the dealer to fix it then I will buy the car we will see. Yes it was the stock shifter.

Thanks for the replys guys

If it shifts easy, then your syncros should be good. The only thing I may be concerned about is a motor mount may be broke and is causing the tranny to shake, but a mechanic can check that. Other than that I would probably not worry about it.

it al depends upon what rpms you are at. dont quote me, but i think it might shake a little at low rpms, but not to where it should be annoying. if its one of the things you first noticed when you drove it and doesnt seem normal then i would probably try and take a skilled mechanic to check it out before you purchase the car

Do the motor mounts break on these cars often? Or is it just something that might happen from someone beating on the car ?

I have a 97 cobra that was beat the **** out of...and the motor mounts are toast. But, that probably happened somewhere between the rear end getting torn up, the transmision taring up, and the motor wareing out... I bought it and then drove it to the shop, where I am replacing all of that. I think that if the motor mounts made it through all of that abuse, they are not one of those things that are all that likely to fail from normal use...be wary of that stang if the motor mounts are shot! It could mean that the 70,000 miles were really hard miles. You should have the car inspected by an independant shop, if you are interested in it...They are kick *** cars. I have two of them...Don't do it the way that I did...I will end up with a fully reconditioned car, but it will cost the same as a new GT by the time it is done...(It will be a bit more of a car then the GT, so I am not complaining)...
