Looking to buy a 98, 99 or 2001 SVT to build for the One Lap of America. If any of you have good leads let me know. I am also having a hard time deciding on IRS or a 98 with the solid axle. The 99 cars concern me because of the recall. How do you know if the recall work on the motor was done? I've heard the 98 cars actually make more power on the dyno than the 99 cars that are rated at 15 more hp. I want to spent as close to $10000 as possible but would spend more if the car had mods that are useful to my build. What is your guys opinion on which year to get?

I have the 2003 SVT Cobra, and ready to trade it in for an SS. The car idles rough, knocks, and engine light comes on. I took it in after the supercharger overheated (towed actually) and then took it in for the knock and rough idle (Smoked when starting ocassionally too). All while under warranty and ford would not fix. Now warranty has expired and they are not responding to my request to fix as they should have while under warranty. Can anyone help before I go to real american hot rods.
