is there anything i should look out for in buying a lightning? such as mechanical problems on certain years...etc. and help would be appreciated

If I remember right, there were a few problems on the earlier production S/C lightning like the 99s? I know Ford made some positive changes on the 01 and up models such as intake runner length, tranny upgrade, and a few other mods. It has been a while since reading the Lightning material. I almost bought one a few years ago before buying my first Terminator. There are some nice Lightning sites to browse for more info. Just do a Google search.
