Default cobra potential

I want to know what is the power and 1/4mile potential for 96-98 cobra's N/A. With things like full exhaust, udp, 4.30's, slicks, etc.
It would be a daily and tanken to the track maybe once a month. Also, what is the usual "naws"(J/K) nitrous shot that is used. I'm not that big of a fan of it if ya'll say 125, i'd probally only jet 75.
And just wondering if any of you 96-98 owners run slicks, and if so how hard do you guy's launch.

Default RE: cobra potential

I dont know the full potential.. On 4.10's with Drag Radials, an upgraded clutch, K&N filter, no mufflers, and a somewhat sticky track I pulled a 13.7 with like a 1.89 60'... so with actual exhaust work (headers back), cams, head work (PNP), UDP's, TB, CAI, and especally with suspension work and weight reduction you might hit mid-12's if you can really drive.. without suspension and weight reduuction mid to high 12's? Thats assuming you keep the stock bottom end.... Now if your wanting to up the compression ratio to actualy make more power out of the motor, just know that for all that work, your looking at more money then it would be to buy a centrifigul supercharger and slap her on there... with less power. Hell, you could do nothing but tires, exhuast and the smaller KB and be deep into the 12's.

Or for less thent hat you can get a brand new complete vortech kit and sticky tires along with exhuast.. N/A is cool... but its really not hte way to go with our motors... unless you have really deep pockets. And if its going to be a daily, boosting it is the only way to go.. to get any serious power your going to have to go one hell of a lift on the cam's.. and 4.30's on a t45? Thats some steep stuff right there..

Also, you can put up to 125 shot on with a tune and it run just fine (from what i have read I also have no experience). You can run a 75 shot with out a tune.. but I wouldnt go any higher then that unless you get it dyno tuned and setup properly..

Default RE: cobra potential

my 98 cobra has ran a best of 8.05 with a 1.64 60' in the 1/8. mods were full bolt ons no pass seat or rear seats, drag suspension in the rear, rear pinion set at -4 degrees, and 4.10's with a 28" tall slick. I put in some 4.56's and went back out to the track and my first run i blew my tranny lol. I was dumping the clutch at around 5k rpms and was hooking with a slight screetch to them.
