Has changing clutch quadrents solved this problem for other people?

 

get the clutch quandrant, firewall adjuster, and adjustable cable.
I have a Centerforce DFX 26 Spline Clutch, Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel, Libert Gear 26 Spline input shaft. Without the above parts, I had hard time getting into 2nd & 3rd over 4500 rpms when trying to speed shift (I like to shift at 6000 rpms). since changing those parts, not no prob. I can run it up to 6000 rpms & grab 2nd & 3rd no prob for the track.

On the street is no prob anyways.

 

Change your tranny fluid to GM synchromesh. It will shift like butter.

 

dont you have to mix the synromesh wish some other oil?

 

you didn't mention what year your car was. If it's 2001-2003 it likely is a bad synchro. I had mine to Ford twice and they replaced the tranny. No luck. They put out TSB 04-15-6 (Manual Transmission Problem) last year. Mayeb they missed it. This is an old thread below, but I just paid $2000 for a new synchro kit and the car shifts better than when it was new. I am trying to get some money from Ford's "After Warranty Assistance" area since I tried to have it fixed under waranty twice and they failed.

"Does the 3650 five-speed transmission in your '01-'03 Mustang make noise or feel rough?... head for the dealer and have them investigate TSB 04-15-06, which says your tranny needs a synchro kit installed"

I've got a 2001 Cobra with the tremec 3650 ... the shift from first to second has been rough (grinds) from day one. Ford has replaced the tranny twice - still no better. Do you think they will do the work even though my three year warranty is up?
