Cobra Purchase 6sp vs. auto?
Sorry guys, I have tried to do searches for this topic (I'm sure that this has been asked 1000 times) and I always get the message that nothing was found?
I currently own a '04 GT 5sp and I have been looking for a '04 Mach 1 or '03 - '04 SVT Cobra. I live in MIA and the traffic $uck$.
Although I prefer 5 or 6 speed trannys, I was wondering what you all reccomend I should purchase? (is Auto on a Mach 1 or Cobra OK)?
I know some people try to put auto trannys to improve 1/4 mile time? I don't really race, so I am more concern about daily driving?
I test drove a '03 6spd Cobra, and the clutch was totally different than my '04 GT. When I released the clutch, it comes back up really slow? This is the only Cobra I have ever driven?
Please give me some advise.
Thanks

i would say go for the cobra and like he said they only come in stick. I think if you were going to make it a dragster then it should be an auto, but IMO i don't think any nice and fast car should be an auto.

My Clutch comes flying back up.
That cars clutch is probably toast. Talk the price down a little, get them to replace the clutch and be glad you got a Cobra over a Mach 1!!
The Mach 1 has more bang for your buck Vs the GT, but it has the same limitations on the engine (uses the same rods that break at 450hp in the GT) and the same 3650 that isn't high HP friendly.

I will keep looking for a Cobra 6 spd.
