my friend is getting a 2002 firebird with a ls1. its an auto but has a shift kit and 3.73s. all i have is a o/r h pipe. what would i need to beat him. 4.10 and intake or would it be alot more than that?

you would need a 4.10 and a couple other bolt ons to beat it, they are very strong, i would suggest getting a cat back and cai and tune the heck out of it!

 

You will need a LOT to beat one of those... I had a best of a 13.7x in my 97 with exhaust, 4.10's, drag radials, and a filter... Car was probably capable of mid 13's on a great run..

The 02 TA's have been known to hit 12's bone stock on streets, and even the high geared (2.73) auto's will pull a 13.4 almost every time down the strip straight off the lot.

 

Get a 100 shot, gears and tires and you should be there.

 

Get a 03/04 Cobra.

ls1 arent **** can any of you out run a cts-v? i barely can and my 97 is still pretty tame. its got LT xipe bullets. ported heads and intake and pullies.

 

with what i have done i ran a best of 13.1 at 106, and i am wheelhoping very badly off the line, i have yet to be beat by a bow-tie! but not being cocky bc i used to have one and they are fast but they are beatable, 4.10s, exhaust cai tune, and powershift the hell out of it!
