Default 1st 07 Shelby

I saw a 07 Shelby gt 500 tonight at cruise night in Bellmore LI NY. The guy who owened it had just picked it up from Country Ford . My first impression was that Ford should bring back John Colletti & the rest of the SVT group! There was alot of attension around the car & it seems that the general concensus was that the hood & especialy the rims were ugly. John Colletti would probably move the rim designer to the Crown Vic line. Also, he said he paid 20k over sticker. Personaly I will wait & see what happens when & if the price drops to normal, in the mean time I will keep my 03 & hope the Camaro makes it to the dealer floors.

I seen one today on the showroom floor at my local Ford dealer. Looks really good, and I thought the hood looked great and the wheels too. I have no problem with the looks whats so ever. $45,000 on the sticker, ouch!!!

I'm not saying I don't like the car, I really dislike the rims ,the hood I can live with. The rest of the car looks very impressive & the leather accents in the interior are real nice. The other minor complaint is the Shelby name on the back, it's off to the left & unimpressive looking, I think it should have been centered across the back w/raised polished letters. Overall the car has great curb appeal, just in my opion not worth 65k.

It is a very good looking car IMO. 500hp just waiting to hit the road. Do a pulley swap and few ohter little mods and have 550rwhp from a car that is 40k. You really can't beat that.

to boxy i think in 1999 ford really messed up the mustangs. too many angles not enough curves. I prefer the 05's to th 99's but they are still too bulky for my taste.

I haven't seen the Shelby 500 on the street, just in pictures... but I own 2 '97 stangs that I think are visually very smooth lined and have nice curves (going in line with some of what you are talking about)... finding some fault in your comments, I had to say something here. First, the mustang has never looked bad. My preference in the latter years is the 96 to 98, but I find the new retro version most pleasing to the eyes. I would most likely appreciate it a whole bunch more, but the cost of buying one puts a damper on getting carried away with all of that... Correct me if I am wrong here, but I don't think that you have to be old enough to know the mystic of the late 60's models, to appreciate the 05 and above form. It is a very clean looking car with a nice muscular stance. I think that credit should be given to the folks at Ford for putting out a car that makes roughly 500 horses right out of the box. Ford has really led the way in the new craze with the American auto manufacturers' putting out high performance vehicles... If you don't like the wheels, like so many haven't liked their 'stang wheels, then you call upon the aftermarket like we have been doing for as long as I can remember... All of the bull**** aside with the look of the car, the real question is whether the car has the horsepower and handling to be considered a Mustang. The answer to that is "for the heck sure it does". Wheels, hoods, and things are a matter of personal preference and can be adjusted by the aftermarket. So, I say that I would go right out there and buy one if I had the money just lying around....

Now the real kicker is your statement about the Camaro. What are you thinking? What are you on?
