Help
I am looking at 2 different mustangs. Which should i get. A 1999 mustang cobra with 86k or a 1999 GT with only 38k? The cobra is from a individual, the GT is from a used car dealer. The cobra is about $2000 more than the GT.

RE: Help
Personally, I'd go for the one with less miles, but it should come down to what you want to do with it. If you want to build a GM/import killer, you should go the Cobra route, although I'd keep looking for one with way less miles. If you want a nice street cruiser, the GT is a great ride that can still make good power too. Take your time because you dont want to look back and say, "I wish I would have bought this one."

RE: Help
How much are they actualy asking for the cobra? with those miles, depending on condition and if its a vert or coupe, 13k or so is about the MOST I would pay.. Probably closer to 11,500...
The Cobra will be faster and handle better with the IRS... either can be made much faster.
And you can pick up a 99+ GT with a little more mlies for under 10k pretty easily now as well.

RE: Help
The Cobra has 86K and thats alot. If we assume this will be a daily driver, then in a year, you will have a car with almost 100K. No telling what that cars been through with that many miles. The price seems fair, but in a few years you could be looking at a rebuild. Keep looking 2.3
