Default 01 cobra

Hey guys im looking at a 01 cobra. 90k miles. Manual looks clean as ****. I know they had some sort of recall and I wonder what that would take to fix it if it hasnt already been fixed. Anyways. How dependable are they and how much mpg do they get, just out of curiosity cause my 5.0 gets about 11. I know you probably get these Q's a lot but i am serious about buying this car. so any valuable info will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have or never had a 99 or 01 Cobra, so i'll leave the details to the actual owners, but I can say that the recalls had to be addressed at a Ford dealership and they document even oil changes. What I'm getting at is that if the recalls were taken care of correctly, get a carfax report. The report will tell you if the recalls were addressed, at what dealership, the mileage, etc. Like all vehicles, gas mileage depends on your driving. If i'm being a good boy, I can usually get 175-195 (around town driving) a tank using Shells V-power 93 octane in Texas. That's the only fuel my girl gets. Even with the eaton supercharger, I get pretty good gas mileage on the freeway too.

Cool cool thanks. Yeah I know the being good part when it comes to gas mileage but im just trying to get the average you know. Your gas mileage is still better then what I get lol and you have a blower. So anyone else on dependability and everything else i asked earlier? Thanks in advance. And thanks Zinc for your input.

From my paperwork the recall consited of an intake manifold change.. I've read the intake coupled with a pretty restrictive exhaust caused the problem..

I know they replaced my intake and I changed my exhaust.. I added a few mods and put down 297 @ the wheels.. If memory serves me right the 99-01 Cobras 'should' be putting down about 260 @ the wheels as Ford claimed (w/ the recall kit).. I added an exhaust, MAC Cold Air Intake and an SCT tuner which I estimated to add about 30 WHP.. Thus, all added together the numbers seem to add up exactly where they should be..

01 have 25 more hp .no recalled need for that year .they didnt make a 2000 cobra in the usa , they were trying to get more hp out of it . i read in 5.0 book that the 01 cobra will beat a 99 with the fixes.they also said that you could feel the differance. i know the 99 had a rear steering kuckle recall , with a parking brake recall too. 01 i dont know hope this helps.i had a 99 with l/t headders with the perf tune i had 291 hp to the rear wheels. 289 tq.

The '01s had no recall, only the '99s did.The '01s actually had 320 hp stock[275-280rwhp]whereas the '99s were rated 320hp,but didn't make that much and were recalled. My '01 got 23-24 mpg with the stock gears,it still gets 18-20mpg with the 4.30s.

Cool thanks. Well i dont know if I am going to be getting it because of the fact that the car may not be there by the time I have the money but I will be trying my hardest. I got a carfax done for it and everything was cool. So now only time will tell. How about the reliability.

The only problem I've had is the clutch took a sh_t at 38k,but that was somewhat my fault.
