Isn't 25-30rwhp about the same as 45-50hp (flywheel)?

I really can't see that there are that many horses left in that stock engine... I know that if you install a high flow X-pipe, you can expect about 3 to 4 HP at the cost of about 30 to 40 decibels... I know that for the most of us that is kind of a nice little bonus, but you need to look at Ford's point of view to understand why they left those horses where they were... But, on a stock engine, you can give it a different tune and look to gain maybe another 20...if you are lucky... I don't really think that the cat-back system will be good for anything other then tone... Underdrive pullies will get another 5 to 10 (tops on the 10) but may cause some unwanted side effects such as your alternator not giving a complete charge when you are idling (a totall batch when you are stuck in traffic listening to some tunes with the air conditioner on). I would still think that you will look to getting 25 horses at the flywheel if you are lucky...even if I hope that I am wrong (but I don't think so)... You should do some dyno time and get the before and after numbers. I think that there are a lot of guys out there that would like to get that info, and benefit from it.

You can build 96-98 Cobras better than the newer ones...(03-04) I don't see why you couldn't get 50flywheel hp out of all of that or damn close to it. It's a 32 valve engine.

yea u will nto see 30 rwhp out of that... prob 20 or so... a full bolt on cobra of our years will see only around 300rwhp/306rwtq around there more or less... soo... add LTs and ull see a better and more noticable difference...

gears liek 4.10s or 4.30s would also really wake up ur car... thats next on the list.. probably lowering springs now that the shocks/struts are taken care of

sorry ill list myself...

96 cobra-
about 4k worth of parts/maintanence to get it to normal running condition and to fix all the problems (wear and tear with 112k miles loll)
KYB AGX shocks/struts
17' 03 satin cobra rims.. performance brake pads.. Kumho Ecsta MX tires...
FRPP 9mm wires - new spark plugs and whatnot
BBK CAI
BBK U/D Pulleys
Steeda Tri-Ax short throw shifter
MGW Custom Interior/engine dress up pieces.. <-- lol at mod
Smoked headlights/fog lights - Sylvania Silverstar lights all the way
All Synthetic fluids / purple royal tranny fluid
SLP X-Pipe(interchangable one) with High flow cats
SLP LM2 Catback - sounds frikin amazing.. did have flows-sounded good(they sound great with an off road H) but the LM2 just outdoes the raspyness...

nothing specail as of yet.. but its getting there

Alright so then what's going to give me the most hp for $1,500? It has to have an SLP LM1 catback in that $1,500 though. I want about 315rwhp. It has to be able to pass emissions too.

1500 is what u would pay for liek just a full exhaust...
but if u want to be quicker.. go 4.10s or 4.30s, long tube headers, and the LM1 catback... and possibly a catless midpipe..

thats not taking in intallation cuz u could do most of that on ur own... well... ok nor not... but w/e.. so yea ur gunna need more for install.. but that would help u the most right now..

u gotta know what u truely want..

gears dont give u HP.. they just cut down ur time in the 1/4... but u still do have some top end left.. and can pull pretty damn good in 5th gear.. and start from stops in second gear lol....

$760 for cat back and shorty catted x pipe. I was thinking LT headers as well with O2 simulators. I want to make sure it'll pass emissions though. Will I need a tune with LTs? How much power we looking at there? What's a good LT header that'll bolt up to an SLP shorty x-pipe anyway? I was looking at these: "MAC 96-97 4Valve 1 5/8' Ceramac Coated with 2.5' Collectors"
