I got a 2001 Cobra, just did my first upgrade, which was the intake. Next move is exhaust and springs. I need some suggestions on the exhaust, I can't decide to go with either, MAC, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, Borla. I don't want to spend too much, like Borla, and be able to get the same sound and performace as I would if I got a Magnaflow.

Any suggestions, reviews, comments, critisms?

fr500 exhaust system

 

I can't find anything on a FR500 exhaust system.

 

ive seen them for sale. i think mustangtuning has them

 

Need to specify what you're looking for sound level wise. Borlas give a nice mellow, not so loud tone at normal throttle but at more than half throttle they open up. I'm sure there are some sites out there where you could listen.

I have a mac prochamber and magnaflow catback. i love the sound.

 

I have the Borla Stinger CB with stock H. Expensive, but worth every penny. Late Model Restoration (Waco, TX) carries the FR500 system. Check out Mustangupgrades.net or Mustangexhaust.com for sound clips. One suggestion, get a stainless steel kit to avoid rust.

 

Ok, so what is really better for your dollar, buying the Borla exhaust kit for $700 or say a Magnaflow kit for $400? I have heard the Magnaflow, it sounds mean, I have also heard the Borla on a GT, it says mean as well, but is it really worth the extra $300-$400 more???
