Default ported blower

I was thinking about porting my supercharger by steigmeier. First off is it really worth it? does it wear the supercharger out quicker? and how much of a difference will it make? Is this something i will have to have my tune redone? thanks for all the info

Ok, I don't want to sound like one of those a-holes, but, you should do some searching on svtperformance.com. They have a ton of info for what you seek. I will give you a run down though. Porting your supercharger will be the best decision you ever made. The latest port is outstanding and gives you phenomenal gains. You will need a new tune and possible a new MAF or just a mafIA. This also depends on what pulley combo you go with. If you go with the port, you should opt for a 2.76upper with a 2lb lower or a 2.93 upper with a 4lb lower. I'm crazy, so I am now at a 2.93/6lb combo. I may change it up to go back to a 3.1/6lb combo though to eliminate some of the belt slip.

It will not wear your s/c out any quicker than sticking a smaller pulley on it. It will be more efficient with the port and less heat will be generated. Again, this all depends on how fast your spinning it with your pulley combo.

Hope this helps.
