2001 Cobra
Need a little help with a subject I am unfamiliar with - the snakepit. I've been keeping my eyes out for an '01 cobra vert for a few months now and have a few questions prior to pulling the trigger. My roush has ~425 crank hp, which is where I would at least like to be with the cobra. I understand the 01's have a forged crank, but should it stop there? If i were to slap a S/C on her, which I will do, would it be wise to beef up the rods and such?
For those who feel it's best to simply buy an 03/04 that has everything already taken care of, I prefer to add my own touch to the car.

RE: 2001 Cobra
It depends on how much power you want.8 psi is a good safe amount of boost on a stock bottom ens,and will usually be good for 425hp[or more] at the wheels. If you want more than that then it would be wise to build the bottom end.

your fine for the equal amount of hp your roush is making...a procharger will put you there and a kenny bell will be just as good...to match the roush is no problem...but anymore, then take the above advice and throw some customs in there

the block is good to 600, the crank is good to 800, the rods are the weak point, and i wouldnt give it anymore than about 500...im not sure about the swap though (although im sure most ppl will tell u get a whipple or kb because the "heaton" isnt worth the $$), but im sure either an 03 set of heads or porting could match things up[&:]
