So i have an 03 mustang cobra and everything has been fine except sometimes i'll be driving and it will all of a sudden cut out, it won't accelerate and power steering goes out. all the lights turn on, on the dash but once turn it off and turn it back on everything is fine. does anybody know why it does that or whats wrong? plz help!

Have you checked the alternator? Sounds like it could be going bad. You can go to an Autozone or somewhere and let them check and see if thats the case.

When you say "cut out" is the engine cutting off or is the engine running and is just unresponsive? have you recently done any mods to the car?

If it cuts off when you put the clutch in, then it is your IAC (idle air control)... That being the case and you are in luck, 'cause it is an easy fix... I went through that same problem a little while ago, took it to Ford (before I knew what the IAC was) and they replaced it for good money... All that needs to be done is to clean it off... Add some details of when the car cuts off, like only when warmed up or only when it is cold and so on...

Yea i had the same problem on my 91 gt and it was the IAC or idle air control valve for dummies.

so ive paid better attention when it basically stalls out...its when its in nuetral and i am braking. never while im in gear

Yea i dunno, id take it to a respectful mechanic. not ford or someone whos going to give you the runaround.
