Default snake grille insert

hey guys i have a cobra and i still have the pony in the grille. i just bought the snake but i dont know how to get the horse off. the nuts holding it in are some special nut. what should i use to get it off? it looks like an allen key hole with a small stud in the middle. thanks

It's a T-25 bit, you can find them at any hardware store.

my socket set had a bunch of bits that came with it and there was one in there that worked. if you have a set with various bits check those out.

I had to use a small flathead to get them loose. Where the T-25 bit would go, there was a small round pin in the center that was sticking out, preventing me from getting the bit inserted. Luckly, they weren't that tight.

thats good... at least they came out without a struggle.. Do you have to use the same screws for the Snake or do they come with the new emblem?

It's actually a "Tamper Proof T-25 Torx bit." That's why you see that little dot or "round pin" sticking out of the middle of it. A regular T-25 torx bit will not work on it. It will screw up the bolt if you try it with a regular torx bit. You can find the tamper-proof torx bits at any home depot.

I had to reuse the screws, I didn't get any in the box with the emblem.

Advanced Auto has them for sure, but you can get them at almost any parts store. Hardware stores may not have them.
