hey.. i have a 1996 cobra.. i reciently bought it, and the owner before me didnt have the manual or anything for it.. so does anybody know what grade oil the 4v 4.6 engine needs? how much does it take? and where could i get an owners manual, possiblyat a ford dealership?

 

i use fully synthetic 5w-20 in my 03 i believe it takes 6 quarts.

 

Im my 99 cobra's manual it says to use 5W-30 synthetic.

 

I put 6.75 qts of synthetic 5w-20 with a mobil-1 filterin mine because alot of the oil stays in the heads and you can spin a bearing that way.

I don't know about yours.

 

my 97 manualcalls for 5w30... I wouldn't go any other way... there was a while that I put 10w30 in there because it was what I was used to, but doing that over a long period of time can lead to problems as our engines are high RPM with some tight tolerences in there...

Ebay. Buy the way whatever weight oil you decide to go with Mobil 1 fully synthetic is about the best oil you can buy.
