My best friend just bought a yellow 2001 Cobra 2 weeks ago. Were already looking to modify it, Im not much of a 4V man so I figure i'd ask you guys. We plan to do a Magnaflow Catted X Pipe with Magnaflow matching catback. Then throw in the K&N FIPK kit. Would the BBK 62mm TB be a good upgrade? Were not working with much money so no superchargers or gears. Would those 4 mods be beneficial to the 4v motor? My question is mainly regarding the throttle body, would it be worth the $320?

 

Absolutely not.

The powergains are minimal, and you wont notice it at ALL.

Cobras have a pretty decent throttle body for stock. Some people will differ with me, but trust me, $320 can be spent MUCH better elsewhere. Plus your paying for the name. Holley is much cheaper. Alot of people on here are gung ho for the JLT, but I dont see what makes it so great. A TB is a TB.

If you absolutely want a bigger one, just bore the one you have a bit.

Save the money and get some gears, youll notice the diff right away. They're 100% worth the investment, and about the same price your about to get ripped off for with that TB, if not cheaper.

Also magnaflow is OK for mustangs.. check out SLP, Flowmaster, and Borla first. Theres others, I just cant think of them. SLP is the loudest you can get I believe (and from personal experience).

 

62mm throttle body is only 5mm bigger than stock, while there is gain...like italia said, its not worth the hp/$ ratio

are you going to go with the packs or mufflers on the magnaflow system?

 

i love the sound of the magnaflows, sounds tougha and that is what a lot of the cobras around here go with, but it is what ever you want, sound about like borla just cheaper.
