eight hundred and fifty thousand miles. Holy ******** tuesday Batman! Just kidding.
They eat a little oil, but that seems llike you're consumption is a little high. Do you notice any smoke coming out of the tailpipes? Typically, a puff of blue smoke on startup means that oil is leaking down into the cylinder(s) from somewhere up above. If it smokes when youre driving, it typoically means that piston ring(s) are bad and allowing oil to get up into the combustion chamer. Also, check to see if there is oil floating on top of the coolant in the resovour. If there is, you probably have a blown head gasket. I'm not a mechanic by any means, so anyone else feel free to add.

4 valves are bad about burning a little when you get the rpms high and just let off the gas letting the motor slow the car down, it build extremely high crankcase pressure and pushes it up past the pistons, one way to fix this is by a oil breather filter to take place of the cap or steeda offer something that actually fixes this for 03 and 04 but will work for yours

All technical jargon aside.....if you are losing your oil reading off your dipstick in a year, much less 2 months, you got a serious problem..... 85,000 miles isn't much on a 99 Cobra motor, so long as it wasn't beat to death growing up.

does your car smoke like james bonds car ? when you get on it , if so , your motor worn out , my 99 had 52,000 miles on it , i took it out , the v/guides where shot, and the piston had piston slap at TDC. its time for a rebuild like i did , i then slod it then got my 03 cobra , if you dont belive me heres a pic with my 99 cobra motor been taken out . itsa bitch.sorry that was the wrong pic here
