Default Your Dads IMRC's

Ok your Dad has a 97 mustang GT and had to replace the engine due to failure. Of course being wise man he buys a 4.6 out of a Mark viii because even he wants an engine which was treated the way Grandpa drives. Got the engine for $850 and it is crystal clean, great buy. Now using the stock computer and harness he can get everything working but the IMRC's. Dad drives this car everyday, likes the idea of extra hp's but frankly the GT was fast enough for a spirited sunday drive.

Just to get the car on the road, driving smoothly and not slower then the stock GT what should he do.

1) Delete the IMRC's, tune if necessary. Sure you lose low end torque, but the old man doesn't need it to be that fast anyway. Faster than the GT is plenty fast enough.

2) Leave on the IMRC's but test at different settings (closed, open, halfway) to see how the car responds. I can, eeerrrr he can add an adjustment screw pretty easily.

3) Hook the IMRC's to a relay and that relay to a shift light set to 3250. That should do what the computer was doing in the lincoln.

Goals
Comfortable Daily Driving (sometimes 100 miles) is #1, a spirited weekend drive ranks at #2 (Faster than the GT), and some good old American muscle showing up a Honda Civic with glow sticks mounted underneath ranks a close 3rd (much faster than the GT)

Please, any suggestions would be appreciated!
