hello i was wondering if anyone could help me out on what to buy to setup my friends 1996mustang cobra its a 5 speed with the 4v and he was looking for something to set it up for more speed at the strip we really dont no much about chips and all of that if anyone could help please i would really appreciate it i am pretty sure that there is a chip in it right now cause it doesnt have a rev limiter and it doesnt top out well at least he hasnt had it that fast yet but the chip came with it thankz

 

put a set of 410 gears in it, that will get it going fast, o and a supercharger the 4V engines love superchargers

 

im not for sure it mite have 4 10 gears dunno what i would do to check he ran at the drag strip last weekend and he was burning out for more then half of the 1/4 mile and he still ran 14 sec. at 98 miles an hour it has nos ran in it but he hasnt used it yet (haha hes scared) he just went and got some slicks but he wants to fine tune the engine with some kind of software or something else that will find tune it, hopefully once he gets slicks that will help out alot we will see tho

 

Go to americanmuscle.com or somewhere else and get the SCT xcal tuner, or find out what your local shops use and buy one of them. For him to go fast I would buy L/t headers, x or h-pipe, catback, s/c, 4.10 gear, forged int = more boost, heads ported, cams, Axles, drivshaft, susp, etc........ Before he gets slicks he better get some aftermarket axles, or he will be buying them after he uses the slicks

 

+1 on buying new axles first, they may last a couple passes but those slicks will break the stockers like twigs
