Default Insurance rates :O

I found this absolutely awesome 98 SVT cobra, i fully intended to buy, it was 12 000 dollars, 38 000 miles, Midnight black with gun metal rims Cobra type Rs, Wowwy wow wow, I set out to buyt his machine and on the way i realized im only 18 and i ought to check on an insurance rate, FYI I live in canada, 200k liabitly was 4800 dollars, I have a clean record and have had insurance on 4 different vehicles within 2 years, and one of them was consective, my honda always had insurance since i got my liscence, For my regual insurance policy, 500000K fire theft and vandalism, the insurance company wanted 8000 dollars per year (rounded figure) and for full coverage, before an inspection to see any chrome and Bull****, the premium began at 14 000 dollars

It broke my heart

8000 a year on a clean record?

Sh it even allstate is cheaper.

I'd say its time to go insurance shopping.

Plus, if insurance in canada works the same as the states, if you've been driving for 3 years and have a clean record, you'll see a small decline in your insurance rates.

As corny as it sounds, check out Geico. They were the cheapest for me. $1300 every 6 months. Then I foud cheaper and switched to AAA which was $1100 every 6 months.

You're only running liability? You're 18 and already have a 2001 Cobra paid off?

I'm currently sitting at $165/month for full coverage.
BTW I'm 21 with no wrecks and no tickets.

WOW!!!! If I had to pay those kind of insurance rates I think I would quit driving.
When I bought my Cobra a few months back my rates started at $60/month, now I am
paying $48/month through State Farm. Full coverage for the bank loan.
