Default '96 Mystic - Needing MOD Advice!

I am new to this forum, and have had my 96 Mystic well since the end of 1995. I am the original owner and it is pretty much STOCK. It is in very good shape and...well...I love my car and take very good care of it. I am looking to start "moding" it up. I wanted some advice from some experienced people (here) instead of just talking with a "saleman" that may or may not sell me the right items or overcharge me for some junk.

Currently I have 4.10 gears andEibach Springsin my stang and going to change out the ignition wires this weekend to 10MM Thundervolt wires. What I am looking for is some other mods minus a Voltec or Paxton to add to my ride...thoughts???

I am thinking exhaust next but I am not sure which type or what brand...I was told that the Flowmasters do not fit well on the 96 but, I could REALLY use some pointers.

Thanks,

MysticMan96

for exauhst i have Bassani cat back on mine, dont know what stile but it sounds amazing, its pretty quiet at idle (still has stock manifolds and mid pipe) but it screams up top. The tips are 3"ers and it looks amazing instead of the 2.5" pea shooters, that and you should go to http://www.seanhylandmotorsport.com/for some good headers (go long tubes, their a pain to put on but sound amazing) or if your looking for a budget header i have bbk shorties on my 5.0 and they are pretty good quality(but once again go with long tube)

Headers(Long pipe)- model?
X-Pipe - Bassani?
Mufflers - Borla?

Suggestions? on models and ideas on best pricing? installation?

I did some digging and got a few prices up

Basically,
Bassani CAT 96-97,2V,2.5",BX CAT BACK - $399
Bassani EXH,X-PIPE 96-04,2V/4V,F/L,CATS,ALUM,BBK - $399
Bassani HEADERS,96-98,4V,F/L,1 5/8",CROME,BBK - $439

My question is....Good Pricing? BTW that is NOT installed...those are the parts.

If your gonna put headers on it yourself, good luck....and let m know if you find an easy way to do it. My buddy has a 97 Cobra and i helped him put headers on it. Let me tell you it was one of the biggest pain in the a@%'s I have ever come across...we ended up having to jack up each side of the motor at a time and it was still a big bi%$^.....I didnt even attempt it on my 98, there is just no room to work with 4v motors

I am going up to the shop today and I will ask about the pricing. I could see that putting headers on a car is a pain. As far as the Cat Backs I would need a welder etc. is there another way?

I would clamp it together, so you could possibly change it in the future if you choose to.
