Default Bad OEm H-Pipe

Hey Guys,

I need some advice. I own a 97 Cobra, I recently blew the bank 2 catalytic converter on the OEM H pipe. I live in milwaukee , Wi and we have emmissions every 2 years. Can I replace the stock H-pipe and replace with a aftermarket X/H-pipe with cats and still pass emmissions. Most, if not all aftermarket catted X/H pipes only have 2 CATS. If i use MILS what are the possibilities of passing emmissions. Second, would it be best to have a shop do the work to ensure it will pass? Anyone have any experience with this....

I need advice Please..........

Why would you use MILS if you have cats. You will pass with an aftermarket mid pipe with cats.

If you can do the install yourself, just do it. I have a bbk x-pipe with cats and I live in maryland, we also have emissions every two years. I think all they do is plug a code reader into your computer and make sure all of the emissions equipment is working.

HI,

Yeah the DOT plugs in as well. Problem is i beleive there are 4 O2 sensors.. Not sure, but 1 for each CAT. With an aftermarket I will only have 2 O2 sensors. Wouldn't I have to put MILS on the other 2 O2 sensors? My concern is buyng the new X pipe installing and then failing.... we have a 3 strikes and your out rule...

Any mechanics out there dealt with this....

You will still have 4 02 sensors, 2 before the cats and 2 after.

They all have to have sensors in them. Your stock sensors will just screw out of the old pipe and into the new.

Thanks Again!!!
