I just bought a 97 Cobra a few days ago. Everyone is probaly gonna think I'm stupid because I bought it without driving it first. I couldn't drive it becasue the anti-theft system is activated. Someone tried to steal the car and busted the ignition and messed with a few of the ignition wires where the key goes. The car WILL start for approximately 3 or 4 seconds and then dies. Does anyone know how to reset this theft system?

 

I believe their is a button in the trunk for this.

 

labotomy time... pull your negative terminal. there is a brain for the alarm in the kick panel disengage the pig tail from the brain.. hook the battery back up and make sure all wires on the broken ignition are correct
