Does anybody know what the performance differences are between the 99 cobra and the 01 cobra..... Thx in advance

 

Nothing if the 99 has had the "Fix".

 

went from teksid to aluminum windsor. T45 to 3650 tranny. diff went from 28 to 31spline. those to me are the major ones. there are others like some cosmetic and interior changes, like the rear bumper went from sayinmustang to cobra and others that you could find from google. hope this helps

 

is the t-45 any good, im getting my cobra in december, and im wondering about a t-56 swap

 

The T-45 is JUNK!!! Probably the worse Tremec ever.
Mine lost the 3-4 shift forks and I think Synchros with less than 60K on it.

You do a T56 swap you are going to want to do the gears in the rear end as well. The T56 (03 Cobra spec) is so much lower that you need 4.10's just to break even in combined gear ratiocompared to the T3650 w/stock 3.27's. Otherwise, with stock gears and a T56 your going to feel like you have the torque of a Honda from a stop.

if i were u, id just go with a tko 500 or tko 600. Gearing is the same as the tr3650

 

Thx guys but i did read somewhere that the Teksid block is much stronger than the 2001 aluminum windsor. Does this sound about right?
