Spec 3 Clutch Issue?
My buddy just bought a 2003 Cobra and it has a Spec Stage 3 in it. I know that some chattering is normal but this is making a grinding noise when taking off, Shifting and down shifting. We were told that it has about 2000 miles on it so it should be broken in. Is this normal or what could the grinding noise be? It still pulls had and does not feel like it is slipping. It is just when taking off or shifting. Thanks.
It only seems to do it real bad after it gets hot. Like if you leave real had on it then after that it makes the grinding noise. He just bought it tonight from a Ford dealer. The guy that owned it before is their finance manager. We are going to go talk to him tomorrow. Ford also is covering ALL the aftermarket and performance parts on it for 90 days.
No my friend bought the Cobra used from a dealership. The guy that owned it before put in the spec stage 3 brand new and put about 2000 miles on it before he traded the convertible for a coupe. The clutch was not used when it was installed.
Ahhh I see. Hmmm. Take it to a reputable tranny shop and ask em whats up. If the news is bad then buy another clutch. Hopefully its the clutch and not the tranny itself.
