Well seeing as 03 and 04 cobras are almost the same price as a new gt. If not cheaper, they have been getting my attention latly. Now there is a 04 cobra at the dealer ship and I was considering maybe getting it. Ok now the question if I was to get it and put a smaller pulley what exactly would I need to make it safe? I was thinking of a 2.8 pulley would that be to small? Just kinda a noob when it comes to the cobras. And one more thing is the tranny in them a t-56 if im wrong please correct me.

 

yes they come with t-56 6 speed trannys and to make it safe with more boost, all u got to do is a custom dyno tune, and u should be set.... but there is a long list of other mods to make it more safe, but tuning gets rid of the largest danger.... running lean and detonation...

 

I think what sucks is that since we live in tucson, we live about 100 miles away from anyone who is a reputable tuner, im not sure Chuck Hawk works, so you will pretty much have to drive up to phoenix to get anything done for performance, at least that has been my experiencein dealing with boost so far. good luck either way. which dealer is the 04 at?

 

Its at jim click but they want 29k for it and it has 40k miles on it. I looked at today and it looked like someone kicked the front bumber and broke one of the mounting tabs.

 

I dont deal with jim click, I would look for a private seller, Im sure you could find onein town, Ive seen a couple on the northeast side looking to upgrade up to a gt500, I would go that route, as you could find one for under or close to bluebook, which is alot less than $29,000. if you think about it, look through autotrader, find one in phoenix, as you will be more likely able to find onewith the mods that your looking at anyway, and almost nobody drives them, they baby them, and the dealers there are alot friendlier in my opinion

 

imo thats too much money for that car, they are all ove for aound 24-25 if not less for a mostly stock car.

 

Well I have to say this to while I was looking at it I noticed it had a lowering kit magna flow cat back jlt ram air intake and a 2.93 pulley (it said it on it). The guy I was was talking to told me it was mostly stock but hes just there to make a sale. Only reason I would go through them is because the loan is through my parents and they love going through jim click. Plust I think we could get them down to about 27k out the door. It really bugs me that someone kick the ****er over the weekend.

 

Get the 04 cobra. Im going to be selling my 07 gt for a 04 cobra. Gotta Love Them Termis!!

 

I do love the looks of them. My moms trying to talk me into a 08 gt over it and I was trying to explain to her why the cobra is a better car but it was like talking to a wall lol. She had know idea what I was talking about lol.

 

29k is too much. I paid 26k for mine with a nice list of mods. There are a bunch of places up here in PHX to get your car tuned.
