Default Stalling issues w/ 97 Cobra

Hey Guys,

I have been helping my friend w/ his 1997 Cobra (Laser Red, 147 K on the odo).

Issue: When driving the car around town the car bucks (losses power and gains it, jerking the car forward) for a few seconds then dies[:@]. I cannot for the life of me figure it out.

We have just finished doing the following work:
1. Cleaning of the IMRC (very clogged up w/ 147k miles on them)
2. New Plug wells (where the spark plugs go) due to the fact that there was lots of oil on the wires/plugs where they seat in the valve covers.
-New Valve Cover gasket

One thing I forgot to mention is that the bucking/stalling did not occur until after he had changed the fuel filter but before we cleaned out the IMRC's
and changed the valve cover gasket.

Car is close to stock (Centerforce Clutch only non-stock item)

Default RE: Stalling issues w/ 97 Cobra

a couple of ideas. are u sure ur firing order is correct? how are the injectors? ur positive ur MAF is connected? Did u run a diagnostic to see what codes the car is throwing? that would be the first thing to do, even if ur check engine light isn't on, because it could have pending codes...

mfj,
I checke the firing order and it was correctly set. The MAF is connected. I am going to check fuel pressure and get the codes off the computer.

Thanks
