swapping the New Edge
Yesterday was like the 5th time over the last yearthat I made up my mind I was going to swap the '01 Cobra off for something else. I stopped and drove a 2008 Mustang GT premium package. only option it didnt have was auto transmission.
After driving it, I couldnt get away from the dealership fast enough. I HATE the clutch. I guess Ford finally went hydraulic? The clutch in mine is stiff as hell, which in traffic can be a little annoying, but that thing had absolutely no feel to it at all. The car overall felt like it was 2x's bigger than the last style. The hood and dash are so big it feels more like your driving a truck than a sports car. The center console always seemed to be in the way of my right elbow when shifting. Overall, the only thing I did like about it were the heated seats.
So, add the new GT to the list of cars that I thought I would swap mine for, but then backed out of:
-2001 WS6 (definately faster, sexier, but didnt handle nearly as well, not as comfy)
-2001 Corvette (god-damn that is one big hood, plus lack of cup-holders/ convenient interiorbothered me for a DD, sits too low for ****ty Pittsburgh roads)
-2004 GTO (NICE interior, looks like a Neon, and I hated the hydraulic clutch)
-2007 BMW Z4 si - (fun little car, loved the heated seats, but Im not quite old or bald enough yet)
-2008 Mustang GT.
What the hell! Im running out of ideas of cars to consider.

I wouldn't trade it, but if you like the BMW, try the 3 series. I've always liked the 3 series BMWs. I think after this car that will be my next. I'll probably eventually sell my 97 for an E46.
Thats what I told the salesman."keep an eye out for an '03/04 and I'll be back". They have had at least 3 go through there this year. A black on black '04, a zinc yellow 03 vert, and an 03 Saleen Cobra coupe.
I might just keep an eye out for a complete engine to swap, or build mine in the next year or so.

I'll be financing at least part of it.
That car would be tempting if it weren't butter yellow.
My car is nearly paid off, has a built IRS and T56 already. For the $14k differenceis it worth going Termy, or building my block and doing aKB install?
