Issues with Kevlar Pilot Bushing?
First time post for me... I have an 03 Cobra w/ a kenne bell twin screw and all the SCT goodies that make the wheels spin. I recently replace my clutch and flywheel to handle the power and because as it turned out, the existing clutch was smoked.
I live 25 minutes from Summit Racing so I bought everything from them. I used a Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch set and a Fiedenza Aluminum Flywheel. They also soldme a Kevlar Pilot bearing/bushing (made by Zoom) rather than a stock style bearing. The clutch action is great now! It was super stiff but the new setup is nice and easy.
My problem now is that when I shift through the gears (mostly 1-2 and 2-3 shift) i hear and feel a noise coming from what I think is that bushing. It makes the noise only when the clutch is depressed and only when moving.I think that the input shaft is making a noise where it goes into the bushing when the velocity changes between shifting gears. It almost sound like an old tensioner pulley with a wobbled out, dry bearing.
Has any one had any problems or experience with these kevlar bushings? The only other change I made was changing the fluid in the 6 spd tranny from OEM fliud to Royal Purple.
Any help or idea's would be welcome'd as I think at this point I may pull the tranny back out and put a stock pilot bushing back in.

RE: Issues with Kevlar Pilot Bushing?
it is common for brand new clutches to be quite noisy when first installed. i dont have experience with centerforce, but i would say give it some time, and see if the noise subsides...
