Default Cobra Tuneup

Alright guys, I tried doing a search but it's apparently not working for me right now. I'm just curious what kind of Terminator specific things to take a look at for a tuneup. I haven't done much with my car since I got it, so I figured this weekend I'd go check out the oil and all that. What do I need to know about this car specifically? Obviously both coolant reservoirs, what about supercharger oil? Does anyone have any good links?

Thanks!

i use mobil 1 fully synthetic 10w 30 in the supercharger. it is a pain to change and does not have to be done too often. you need a sringe witha tube to suck the oil out. it takes about 8oz of oil when you refill.

Yeah, I've seen a picture of the process before, but I don't recall where. How many miles does an oil change on the supercharger last?

Other than the supercharger oil and it's coolant, there shouldn't be anything different right? Didn't think there would be much, but I figured I'd double check before I forgot something and regretted it later.

Oh, one other thing, since this is obviously entirely different than my 97 GT, what plugs do you all recommend and what gap?

Thanks again.

yes it stinks, don't put your face down there either when you open the plug as it has a tendancy to squirt. i hear alot of numbers but the most "reliable source" i have found say about 35,000 miles. I don't know that i would wait that long but you really don't have to do it all that frequently. I personally have NGK tr's in the coar gapped at 20 thousandths or so. the easiest way to refill the charger is to jack the front of the car so that is is all leaning back and use a squeeze bottle to squirt it in the hole. make sure you put a towel of a small bucket underneath when you open the drain plug to save a huge mess all over your engine.

Okay, so having 35,000 and just buying it, I probably would want to do a change. I don't have any idea if the person before has done it or not, so I might as well do it myself just in case.

You made me think of something else saying that... I probably need to get a new jack to get under this damn thing, haha. H&Rs put it down pretty far. I typically just go to my parents house and use my dad's stuff when I need to work on my cars since I live close enough and I'm in an apartment, but the jack he has isn't gonna get under my car. I guess it's time to invest in a good low profile myself anyway. I should probably get some good ramps that I can get on too.

Nah, not today, but soon. I just wanted to check on it and see what I needed. Everything else looked great. All fluids are full and clean, and it's been in the garage since Wednesday (it's been raining since then, plus I'm still working on getting it's tags), and there's not a drop of anything but water underneath. It seems like it's been very well taken care of. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he had changed the S/C oil, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. It's sitting at just a few miles over 35k right now.

I would get a custom tune also. I just got a 99 Cobra with Procharger S/C on it about 2 weeks ago, and I didn't drive it for about a week due to rain and waiting for tags. Finally got a custom tune and guy at shop told me I would have defiantely blown the engine if I had gotten on engine hard during week prior to tune. Cost me $450 but likely saved engine.................Think of it like insurance. Just my opinion

Yeah, it's pullied so it already has a tune on it. I trust that it's a decent tune, but I do plan on getting it on the dyno soon to see what exactly it's numbers are and to verify the tune. Once I get my tags I'll definitely be headed to the shop to do that.
