Default Help with 1998 cobra vibration

Hello,

I have a 98 cobra that has a vibration issue that I am trying to reslove. I would really appreciate it if someone could assist me in resolving the problem. The car starts tovibrate at 45 mphall the way up to 140 mph at whichthe vibration is the worst and I cannot proceed past 140 mph, take note that I am not hitting the governor yet. When in town driving from 45 mphto60 mph I get vibration through my seat which isnt really noticeable. When driving at highway speeds from70 to 80mph I get vibration in my seat that has gotten worse and more apparent. When proceeding to the 140 mph marker the vibration seems to disapear and reapearbetween 80-135 mph. Once I reach the140 mph marker I get serious vibration through my seat and through my gear shifter. When trying to accelerate past 140 mphthe car will not do it. It just sits at 140 mphand vibrates like hellin my seat and through my shifter.

What could be causing all of this and what do I need to replace to fix it?

Thank You,

Jeremy

You could have a miss, i had a similar problem, I just replaced sparkplugs and wires and she ran like a champ. If this doesn't do anything try rotating your tires?

I have a similar problem, but it's there all the time. It's mostly apparent when I have someone else in my car. The reason for my troubles is the more weight on the suspension, the more it changes your pinion angle. I have a lowered car with Lakewood traction bars non-adjustable uppers and need to get some adjustables because the vibrations is ridiculous from the bad pinion angle. You may have a driveshaft blalnce problem or your U-joints may be worn out!

I just replaced the u-joints so I know its not them. I guess ill take it to the dealer and have them balance the driveshaft & rotate it 180and see what happens.
