ok, well tonight i went out with a few friends, had a few and now i am home cheken out cobras. and i started to think what i you go a 03- 04 cobra body and then threw on a 07 gt500 motor. with a few mods u could have that thing pushen 700 *****!!!! i would call it Frankenstein. i think wen o got the mony that will be my project

or you could buy a 99-04 v6 body change the bumpers, buy a tublular chasis for the 4.6l's, buy the 4 valve navi motor from a junkyard for a 1/4 of the cost change the heads with the mach 1 heads and a 03 intake and slap and 2.8l KB on the damn thing and be done with it and now you have cheap insurance as well.

 

I'm not certain I understand how a 500 HP engine in a different body makes it a 700 HP engine?

Nice thougth but probably not worth the money. 03 Cobra 25k + GT500 motor 15K?. Pull and replace stock cobra motor 3-4K= maybe 44K minus resale cobra motor 2K?== 42K? Could buy 03 termie and defiantely make 700 HP for less thab 17K... IMHO. My numbers could be off especially price of GT500 motor but research and post again

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that as far as cost effectiveness goes, just upgrade the '03 engine and it'll save you a ton. Then again, after reading the frankenstein part again, maybe this is one of those times when you get really drunk then post random stuff...

wow, that sounds like a dumb idea! here's what u should do if u really wanna go that route. first of all, shelby 5.4's suck! and their internal are crappier than terminator internals. just get a navigator 5.4L DOHC engine, which is aluminum block. upgrade the internals (billet rods, forged pistons), do some head porting, and stuff that into the 03 cobra. over here at psr in az, a friend of mine did that, put a y2k 80mm turbo on it, and made 1200 hp!! now thats impressive! all accessories still on too!! he had ac, powersteering, u name it!
