great posts guys, thanks for all ur input. now time for a follow up question. Id really like a throaty rumble type sound. like when im cruisin at 2,000 rpms down the boulevard ion my town and it just has that great sound to it. any ideas of what model catbacks fit that description. and thanks to the majority concensus i think ill settle on the bassani x-pipe. not sure whether catted or not yet, but ill get there. take care everyone

If your in a state that requires inspection of emissions it will not pass w/o cats. However personally disregarding that I have always thought cats sound better than w/o cats but notas loud. I just prefer the better sounding over louder.

Just my $0.02

Just did the first mods on the 03 Cobra I bought in December. Upper Pulley and Idler Kit, Fire wall clutch adjuster, Steeda cold air kit and SCT Dyno tune. First pull was 388 rwhp and 491 tq., after the tune and mods,445 rwhp and 501 rwtq. You will really feel the difference. The tune is the key with the pulley change, good luck!!

who can i trust to do this tune up? and is it only necessary with the tune? are exhaust mods something u can do on ur own? even if u had the car up on jackstands or do u need a full garage?

Get a garage with a dyno and plenty of experience tuning forced induction (e.g. super and turbocharged) cars. Typically upgrades to supercharger set-upsdrastically increase the amount of intake air or decrease the temperatureof intake air. The computer has to be tuned correctly to manage the changes (e.g. change fuel delivery, timing, etc...). The stakes are exponentially higher to get all these factors alignedproperly with forced induction vs. NA.

Pardon ifI've overstated the obvious if this wasn't the type of info. you were looking for

i have yet to hear from anyone that theyve got flowmasters catbacks or MAC h-pipes. I had them on my 89 5.0, i know an 03 cobra is a different vehicle all together but i like that sound they combine to make. but i see most of you have basssani x pipes and either borla or bassani catbacks. does it just come down to preference? there are so many out there its hard to choose.
