Default Check Engine light Emission leak

I was givin a 03 cobra vert for x-mas from my wife, it has a couple of mods. I borrowed a friends predator (for a 03 04 cobra) to see if the computer is locked. Looks like it is, when I go to program the predator says unable to progam a car that is already has a tune on it.

Anyway after a couple of days of driving the check engine light comes on and when I plug in the predator to clear the error it says "P0442 evaporative emission system leak detected. Small leak" Any ideas of what would fix this?

I do hear a thunk when Im sitting at a light idaling every now and then.It might be normal but the car is new to me.

Evaporative emissions is most likely your pcv valve .The pcv valve is the thing that goes into the valve cover from the intake. The pcv picks up the evaporating gas in your oil and re uses it having it unplugged would also cause a vaccum leak. There might be other evaporative emmissions systems but thats the only one I can think of.

Your computer might not be locked, but if your buddy has a tune on his car, you cant use the tune on your car until he re-loads the stock tune back onto his car. You cant d/l a tune more than once.

Could be your MAP sensor. It reads your EGR valve and controls the air. If it doesn't restrict the right amount of air, your EGR will set off a code. I'm unsure how to check it. On my gt motor it's the module next to the egr valve. It is black in color and has what appears to be a cap on the top that can actually spin if you turn it. Reminds me of a 3 liter soda cap.
