I just got a 01 cobra and was thinking of putting an off-road x-pipe on the car. Would this be a bad idea since this is a daily driver? Any long term things i should worry about if i do this?

 

no need to worry, there aren't many stangs that dont have modded exhaust any more. you'll be fine.

 

hey dude that is really sorta funny u would ask such a thing cause i just did it to mine bout a week ago...its not a bad idea at all its not a newsence it doesnt kill ur ears at all it just has a beautiful sound to it...ppl will notice without bein to obnoxious....it wont hurt anything except the ozone layer and we have muscle cars so we are already killin it lol...it will have a slight stink to it but its a nice smell...well the stink is if u get O/R x pipe which i got and i love....i got the bassani ones and there prolly one of the nicer ones around but alittle expensive...u also have to plan ahead though if u plan on gettin a catbakc and u dont want it to be to loud then u prolly shouldnt get the O/R one...but i love mine and no complaints at all

 

My car is also a daily driver and i too have an o/rx-pipe. no regrets here, would recommend a good set of MIL Eliminators, like BBK just to keep car from running rich and your light from coming on.

 

good point baino mine hasnt come on yet but if u drive like 40 min and it heats up it will come on and rob ur gas mileage but if u plan on gettin a tuner soon then u could prolly go for a bit wouthout a tuner and the MIL dont always work either is wut i have been hearin....

 

I had a o/r x and slp loudmouth 2s on my mach1. It sounds so awsome. Not to loud not to quite just perfect. The smell is not bad at all. I say go for it!

 

Yeah I guess Jegs doesnt sell MIL's cuz of the damn EPA. [:@] But I'm sure you can find them anywhere else. An x pipe is great for sound and isn't a nuisance. It makes your car a head turner if anything.

 

i dont know about a x pipe but i just put a mac o/r h pipe on my 01 cobra and i love it. its not loud at all. i also have a mac catback and it sounds great. my car is a daily driver too. i would say go for it.

 

i just installed a MAC o/r H and it sounds awesome with the factory mufflers to me. i'm not into the whole super loud thing. I can tell you my flowmasters on my old stang droned wicked bad.

With the MAC H i had to buy o2 extensions for the FRONT sensors because of the way the bungs are angled

 

really? i did not have to buy any extension.
