Default 96 cobra

Hi.. am new to the forum and i have a question for the cobras..does a 96 cobra with 120K sound about right or is that too many miles for the year,are they very strong long lasting engines (i would thinks there fords right).Am new to the mustang scene, right know am a senior in high school driving a white 01 supercrew with black rims anyways i plan on buy a stang soon and just wanted some assistance on this.Oh what do yall think the asking price should be? THANKS really for yourhelping andtime

They are great cars with an even better engine 120,000 isnt that bad considering its 12 years old. That means only 10,000 miles a year it sounds great. Check kelley blue book for a price based on its condition.

the mileage isnt bad and try checking kbb, autotrader, orstangtrader for a good price.

Thanks for your time that really helps me alot...I just dont want to get suckerd inbuying a cobra just because its a cobra. For a 17 year old its very hard..um if ya'll come up with anymore tips or things i should know please tell...Thanks alot

Look into insurance premiums before you get wrapped up in....what year Cobra with XXXXXX number of miles on it you can afford....type scenarios. Sometimes a $250/month premium can be a deal breaker.

I bought my 97 cobra with 110,000 miles for $6,800 if it helps you any. Btw my insurance is like 50 a month and im 17. I bought the car with my own money but you have to be 18 to title it so its in my dads name as his "pleasure car". I have to pay twice the insurance on my daily driversuv. I would highly recomend insuring the cobra in your parents name because I was quoted at nearly $4,500 a year.[:'(]

now to give you a general idea. i bought my 97 cobra, had 40,000 miles on it, came with 4.10 gears, o/r h-pipe, mac catback, pro 5.0 shifter & k&n filter. i paid $10,000 for it.

It was all original except for K&N airfilter and Saleen pedals....79,000 miles. Sold it for $8400
