rpm window switch for imrc help needed
I need help wiring up a window switch I bought to control my imrc's. I have a gt harness and a 96 cobra motor. I bought the $50 Summit rpm module and don't know if I need a relay for the added amps and/or a relay module to make things proper. I have the wire diagram to show which wires to cut into, but I don't know about the resistors or relays if any or needed or if it's a straight up install? Any help would be appreiated. I don't want to delete tham as the car has no low end grunt like my boys does. He blasts me off the line like I have a 6cyl. GT's are taking me for the first 500ft too. Thanks a bunch guys
Make a imrc delete, I didnt listen when someone gave me this advice and I wasted $1050 and about 35 hours of my life. Buy gears for the rearend (I love my 4.30's)and completely remove the imrc box . Then you just need a tune. This is pretty much the same thing you would need to do if you put cams in a car you add gears so it gets into the powerband quicker. Youll smoke those gt's off the line and on the freeway if you do this. I still have all of my wiring harnesses if youd like to try anddo it the other way. I would let the harnessesgo cheaply they are taking up my garage lol.pm me if interested.
yeah, I don't want to delete them. It's more work to delete them than to wire in an rpm switch. The switch should only take about 20 minutes, I just need to figure out the final details. I already put gears in when I had my gt motor. 3:73's that have maybe 600 miles on them. I have a custom SCT tune and the deletes wil def hurt my low end grunt as I had them pegged wide open towards the end of the summer last year and there was a noticeable loss down low.
There is a difference between aimrc delete that has been port matched and having them open in my case I had a VERY noticeable difference. When I had them stuck open it was nowhere near as fast. (my Imrc's werealso a bad casting before I got done with them.)The GT ecu does not even know what imrc's are and the gt wiring harness doesnt connect to the imrc's. The imrc part that is missing is also the part that goes to your smog pump/secondary air injection.
