Hello, just got a black 03 cobra with 22k miles. started with some mods already and since im kinda of new to this i would like some suggestions on what to do next. in the future im looking into upgrading the SC or maybe put in a turbo. Let me know what u guys think. i would also like to know what would be the best tune for the car. I heard the diablosport is pretty good.

- 3 in. flowmaster catback
- 3 in. magnaflow offroad x-pipe
- bbk CAI and bbk 65mm twin throttle body
- steeda 3.10 in. pulley for blower

 

Well first off SCT ftw! Also, if you want to stick with that 3.10in. upper pulley, I would buy a Metco lower pulley kit, with a 6# ring. Also, you will need a new alternator pulley, which Metco makes. Then you will want the 4 piece idler setup from Billetflow. Also, you will need a new MAF, which SCT sells. With that I would say you will have ~470rwhp. Also, if you want more then get a port. With that you will need a Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump and some 60# fuel injectors. Then you will have 500+rwhp! Port it FTW!! Well, dont forget that the stock clutch wont last at all once you get some power to the ground. Short throw shifter and some very improtant Drag Radials. The thing that kills ours cars is heat, so upgrade the Heat Exchanger as one of your first mods as well as the LDC head cooling mod when you do the clutch. I cant stress enough how you need to cool it down. There are a bunch of mods to do to this car but I agree you can easily hit 500rwp with a port and supporting mods, mostly listed above. SCT all the way with a good dyno tune.

Oh and a billet flow IRS brace, unless you want to put a new rear end in it.

 

hello, I have an 03' vert with some upgrades, I have a JLT cold air intake, an accufab polished throttle bodie, UPR 2.8" pulley , a idler pulley, diablo sport piece of crap tuner, NGK iridium plugs, accel coil packs ,a uninstalled complete SLP exhaust headers, catted x- pipe loudmouth II catt back and afco pro series after cooler. I was wounding if it was a waste of time installing the headers, or should I try to buy a pypes catted x pipe and sell my headers and x pipe. Do I need bigger injectors, what size. new chip xcal 3 w/ maf. or stay with crappy diablo and get a mafia. Any information would be greatly appreciated. thank you

 

No man, keep the headers! You will need them in the long run, and definitely get some 60# injectors, and I would say if you are going to go big on power, get a new SCT big air MAF, but if going to be 500rwhp you can stick with the MAFia. Also, I would say to get a Boost-A-Pump for 500rwhp+, but if you plan on making 600+rwhp, get the dual Ford GT Fuel Pumps with a modified FPDM, and ditch the BAP.

 

Im really not sure but i think ill be cool when the car is pushing 700 to 750 hp. Do you think I can get to that with an upgraded SC
or do you recommend going with a turbo? Thanks for advice.

 

Cool, what kind of clutch do you recommend? I was thinking of a SPEC clutch but let me know what u think. Also where do u purchase your parts such as that heat exchanger youre talking about. And as for gears what do u suggest i should go with? Thanks for your advice.
