Default high temp on 97 cobra?

i hav a 97 Cobra and it has higher then normal tempeture, and i just replaced the thermostat, its alot better then it was but it still is goin above the half way point on the tempeture guage and im starting to think its bc it has underdrive pullies and they look really crappy and im not sure if they are even for a cobra. my water pump doesnt wiggle when you try to move it and it doesnt leak any fluid, but the temp goes up when i sit in traffic waiting at a stop, and it hasnt gone more the 3/4 on the guage thank god, and the fan seems to be working when the a/c is on and when the heat is on in the car the tmp also goes down. cant seem to figure it and its starting to bother me a bit. Any info is helpful!

The stock radiator sucks buy an aftermarket radiator or get a 180 thermostat and either have a custom tune for the fan to come on sooner or a custom switch. I did all three things and the needle is absolutely glued to theo in normal even when im abusing her on steap hills ,before it used to come close to the L on hills.I love my radiator

Yeah mine used to do that, changing the fan setting or adding a fan switch will eliminate that problem. When I say glued to the o in normalI mean glued lol, so the overkill solution I did was well worth it. I can run her really hard on steep hills and really high rpms on the freeway and it only gets colder : ) Before I got the radiator I couldnt go over 100 for more than four seconds without the temperature jumping way to high from my gears. The road from here to LA is full of people going over 80 in the slow lane so I had to get my cooling mods or else get tickets for holding up traffic.lol

I would suggest trying the fan mod it will help alot and takes less time than a pulley and you dont need to buy the switch any switch will do.http://www.svtcobraclub.com/TechAppl...fan_switch.pdf

well dude when i changed my thermostat i put in new fluid 50/50 mix, and its always full that was the first thing that i looked for a syptom of the problem. and i did take it to a mechanic and they told me to change the thermostat and start there bc if that isnt the problem then im only out 20 bucks.what could the problem be if your soo smart?
