need help quick car is at shop
car is at the shop. Dyno guy called me and told me my car falls flat on it's face when the IMRC plates open up and then starts seriously rocking at 4300rpms like I flipped on the light switch. 21 degrees of timing at 3200rpms. Any suggestions to what is going on? He is a GM guy and isn't familiar with the whole IMRC nonsense. I have an MSD controller opening them up at 3200. Thanks
I guess what I'm asking is what would make my car do this? I have LT headers, no cats and magnapacks. That's it! Could the MAF cause any problems like this? I thought MAFs are bouncy when dirty? Whould it do this if not calibrated for 24lb'ers? MAF print out looks fairly good. Just creating suggestions. Thanks
He said that the car is flat from 2300-3200 and then drops on the charts at 3200 when the IMRC plates open up. Is this something he can fix with the tune as far as adding fuel or spark? The computer for some reason isn't getting the plates opened up so I installed a Summit rpm switch to do the job. He is a GM guy and I'm not a tuner, so I can't really tell him much of anything but only what I know as far as the mechanics part of it. I have no idea on tuning stuff. ohh, that's 21 degrees at WOT. He said it was a lil bit lean but nothing major. Even if he fattens it up a bit what could I suggest him to do to create a mediocre or complete solution for that problem? Atleast a direction what to tell him would be good so I don't get raped on the charges. Thanks
