Default Question about Termi's

Ok...quick question, does anyone who owns a Termi know if our cars have a "fail-safe". Like if the motor gets too hot will it shut off to save from tearing up?

No, it doesn't. You cant set up timing tables within the tune to pull timing at certain levels to save the motor from detonation as the the IAT rises. but there is nothing that will save it from heat like you mentioned. I know from personal experience.

ok, well that posts a question about my dilema. If my car over-heated due to a broken radiator and shut off....could there be damage to the motor? if so, what kind of problems will I be facing? should I be looking to rebuild it?

yes there could be. i would doubt it though. most of the damage caused by heat is usually blower associated. on mine it fried some ringlands. if i was you i would just have a compression test done to be sure. but i would guess that you will be just fine. have you driven it since?

no, I personally have not driven the car. the mechanic I took it to has just started it up to move it and he said it seemed fine. I'm waiting on my new radiator to come in and then I will have him to a compression test.

Thanks for the help
